There was one major problem. The address of the center was written down INCORRECTLY on the information packet provided. This caused us to waste a lot of time trying to find the INCORRECT address. I was to be at the center at 8:15 am. With the correct address, I would have been there early. As a result, we had to try and contact the center. But being at 8:15 the phones were not available. Was able to show up 20 minutes late, causing stress and concern that the procedure would have to be done at a later time and that I would have to go through the pre-op routine another time, which was very undesirable.

All the staff were very personable, helpful and un-rushed. They were good at establishing a connection with me and making me feel secure.

I thoroughly enjoyed all interactions with both the anaesthesiologist and MD responsible for my procedure. The nurse-anaesthetist was also excellent; friendly and knowledgeable. A colonoscopy is kind of a scary experience for someone my age (31) and everyone made me feel at ease. I will say that the GI cleanse I did for the 2 days prior to the procedure made me extremely ill (lots of vomiting besides the predicted diarrhea) and persisted for 3 days after my procedure was completed. I had difficulty replacing the volume of fluid lost, which I think limited my ability to bounce back from the procedure. I wish more of that had been discussed in my discharge. Otherwise, I have no complaints. I really received the best of possible care.

My experience was pretty great. The only area for improvement would be the insertion of the IV catheter took quite some time, was a bit painful, and left a 2-3 inch bruise.
