Patient Portal FAQs

if you have a question that is not answered below, please call 612-871-1145 and one of our representatives will assist you with your Patient Portal account.

1. I cannot see any results on my Patient Portal account. Can you tell me where I can find them?

You will see what the practice has posted on the first screen when you sign in. If you do not see any results in the system you can submit a request for them to be uploaded. To submit a request, please click, “Request Records to be Sent to my Patient Portal Account.”

2. Patient Portal will not allow me to sign on for the first time and I have entered my email address and security code?

Signing on to Patient Portal ( can be confusing for some patients.  Scroll to the bottom of the website page and hit the “enroll now” button to set up your user name and password.

3. I have lost my security code, can you tell me what it is?

Staff at Minnesota Gastroenterology cannot give you your original security code, they can submit a new one for you.

4. When I try to set up Patient Portal for the first time, the site is telling me that I have an invalid security code or email address.

Contact Minnesota Gastroenterology, we may need to verify that the patient email is correctly entered into the EPM portion of NextGen.   If this is correct, you may need to be re-issued a security code.

5. I need help signing in - who can I talk to at Minnesota Gastroenterology?

(office hours: M-Th 8:00am to 5:00pm, Fridays 8:00am-4:00pm)

6. If I update my demographic information on Patient Portal, will my chart be updated in the office?

No, at this time you will need to call our office to update any demographic information

7. Once I'm enrolled, will I need to use my enrollment/security token again?

No. After you enroll and set up a password, you will no longer need the token to access your account.

8. I can't log in to Patient Portal with my enrollment/security token. What should I do?

You may not have fully completed the enrollment process.  Please try again, following the step-by-step instructions provided in "Enroll in Patient Portal" above. 

9. Why doesn't my Patient Portal account show all of my test and procedure results?

Patient Portal has the capability to display results for the following tests and procedures. All other test and procedure results will be mailed to you.

  • Esophageal manometry
  • PillCam
  • Breath test
  • pH probe
  • Liver tests
  • Radiology tests
  • Lab and blood work
  • Biopsy and pathology results for:
    • Colonoscopy
    • Flexible sigmoidoscopy
    • Upper endoscopy (EGD)
10. I can't find the results of my colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy or upper endoscopy exam on Patient Portal.

Results for these procedures are not posted on Patient Portal, unless biopsies were taken. In most instances, exam results for these procedures are sent by mail.
