Nothing but good experiences. Everyone was cheerful.
I found all the people with whom I interacted to be focused on my comfort and understanding of the procedure, great front line staff and medical staff. I did find it hard to focus on giving my medical history to one person while a second person was putting my line in. This is not a complaint per se, but I did find it distracting trying to be present while two things were happening at once since it divided my attention. Perhaps that is a way to have a patient preoccupied answering questions while the line is being put in?
I thought the nurses and doctor were excellent. Treated me with respect, and brought humor to the experience. Dr. Sultan and the nurses were great
The bad experience came from me. I have CPTSD and was freaked out when I walked in the door. I yelled at the receptionist and did apologize after my procedure. My fear was dying on the table. Everyone there was simply amazing. They are all kind, thoughtful, caring and knowledgeable about the procedure in general. Thank you for addressing my fears and helping me calm down.
Very good!
I wasn't told, before presenting for the procedure, that I would be receiving IV sedation, nothing in the written information I received. It wasn't until I was taken back for the procedure that the nurse asked me if I wanted sedation.
Everything went very well. With our masks on, I did find it a teeny bit hard to understand the anesthesiologist (Dr. Givens??), but the gist of it was clear. I am going to have you sleepy and when you wake up, don't make any life decisions, drink or do drugs.
After the procedure was done, the Dr explained that she couldn't remove several of the polyps because she "didnt have the right tool". that was very troubling and now i have to get ANOTHER colonoscopy...my cologuard came back positive, i was referred to your clinic...wouldnt it have made sense that there was possibility of complications due to the cologuard results and i would have been sent to a Dr. that had all the right equipment?
The doctor was running behind schedule, so I was all prepped and waiting to go on the table for a while. I don't know if it's possible to coordinate with the nurses' schedules to change this. It would be more comfortable to spend time waiting in the waiting room or in the exam room before getting changed. But otherwise my experience was very good. All of the nurses, the doctor, and office staff were kind, caring and professional. I believe I received very good care and would recommend MEC to others. The prep instructions were detailed and contained all of the information. But they should be reviewed for clarity. One paragraph says not to drink anything for four hours before the procedure. The next paragraph says three hours. A few small improvements could go a long way to make the instructions easier to follow.
Overall, it was a good experience. The nurses were all wonderful. The doctor seemed to be rushed and didn't spend very much time with me before or after the procedure. The doctor anithesiologist took the time to talk to me.
