There is no question that COVID-19 has disrupted many aspects of everyone’s lives. But with great challenges, comes great creativity and new solutions.

That’s why the care teams at MNGI Digestive Health have implemented the use of telemedicine for select appointments.

Telemedicine is a broad practice that allows medical professionals to care for patients over the phone (televisit) or with video call sessions (virtual visits). And although telemedicine visits are conducted over the phone or by video technology, it is still a formal consultation with a provider. Patients are encouraged to ask questions just as they would in a traditional in-person visit.

It is important to note that not every doctor’s appointment can be replaced by telemedicine. For example, some appointments may require a physical exam or lab test and must be completed in person. At MNGI, we are always striving to make every appointment as safe and convenient as we can, while still ensuring the best outcome for your health.

MNGI is current scheduling telemedicine visits for the following appointments:

  • Office visits (new consults and follow-up appointments)
  • Dietitian appointments

In addition, MNGI feels strongly about providing equitable care and is also scheduling televisits for patients requesting interpreter services.

We understand that GI issues can flare up anytime, even during a global pandemic. You can be assured that MNGI is dedicated to helping you find relief and answers, even during uncertain times.
