Esther Connor, MD
Dr. Connor attended the University of Minnesota for her undergraduate and medical school. She completed her residency in Boston at Tufts Medical Center and spent a year as a hospitalist and nocturnist at two of Harvard's teaching hospitals (Brigham and Women's and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center) before returning to Minnesota to complete her gastroenterology fellowship.
Dr. Connor’s subspecialty interests include hepatology and celiac disease. She has also pursued additional training in nutrition and was certified as a culinary medicine specialist in 2023. In 2025, she was also board-certified in obesity medicine. She enjoys talking with patients about food and helping them improve their nutrition and build healthier lives.
Dr. Connor has served in multiple roles in education, advocacy, and recruiting. She has served as the site director for the University of Minnesota gastroenterology fellows and is involved with teaching trainees in the clinic and hospital, as well as lecturing at the citywide educational lecture series. She serves on the DEI committee at MNGi as well as at Digestive Health Physicians Association, where she has also served as a board member. She leads a Twin Cities Women in Gastroenterology group and has collaborated with co-leading a Women’s leadership workshop through the American Gastroenterological Association.
