A specialty clinic designed specifically for patients seeking relief from hemorrhoids.

MNGI Digestive Health has made a commitment to provide premier care to patients in need of gastroenterology services. In 2009, MNGI Digestive Health opened the Hemorrhoid Banding specialty clinic designed specifically for patients seeking relief from hemorrhoids.

A number of MNGI physicians are now trained to use the CRH O'Regan System, an outpatient banding technology used to treat internal hemorrhoids. The success rate of this banding is >95%, with most patients requiring only three brief office visits for complete relief of symptoms. Patients who are referred for this non-surgical hemorrhoid banding (link to hemorrhoid banding procedure description) are first screened by phone for exclusions, such as pregnancy, cirrhosis, Crohn's Disease or immunosuppression.  Then, a consultative office visit will be set up to ensure the appropriateness of the procedure for the specific situation. (An endoscopic test is also required within a reasonable interval prior to the procedure).

Hemorrhoid banding is used to treat problems associated with hemorrhoids such as bleeding, fecal soiling, as well as ongoing pain and discomfort. It is a safe, painless procedure in which the hemorrhoid is tied off at the base, cutting off the blood flow to the hemorrhoid causing it to shrink and fall off in 1 to 2 weeks. Most patients require three treatments, each done at a brief office visit. We recommend 4 to 8 weeks between treatments.

Appointments for the Hemorrhoid Banding specialty clinic are available at our BloomingtonCoon Rapids, and Plymouth locations.
