It was wildly disappointing to spend 5 1/2 hours on the road for this appointment only to be told we have to do it again multiple times over the next two weeks. It would have been been much more helpful to have our commute time considered before making treatment plans or even being seen the first time. Overall, we were very happy with the provider and staff, but disappointed in the communication and instruction for our first visit.
My frustration is not with the provider or the PA, or the desk person. My frustration is the reaction time to concerns. First, it took 3 hours to get back to me on the procedure that would be done in the office. In that time I had already left for my appointment (it was a last minute suggestion from the nurse that Mia be seen). When I was notified I was told that the appointment wasn't entirely necessary and her problem could be taken care of by a prescribed ointment. Second frustration. The pharmacy said the prescription needs a prior autorization. They contacted MNGI last week and I still haven't heard from anyone. I finally reached out through the portal and the response for prior authorization is 3-14 days! My daughter is in pain but we have to wait 3-14 days. Very, very, very frustrating.
As follow up, when I needed to make an appointment with Children's, the MNGi staff waited on hold with me and through the whole scheduling call to make sure our appointment was set correctly and that Children's had all the referral information needed. It was very impressive that she was willing to do that.
Excellent
The appt was good and the PA was wonderful. Its the experience with the schedulers and nurse trying to schedule the appt.
Even gave me extra info to take home info on what to watch for
There seemed to be confusion that bloodwork labs would be performed at a different clinic - as suggested by them due to not having the proper equipment to draw from a child her age. Delays with receiving the labs even though I sent copies of them requesting prompt follow up.
Blood test results take way too long. It's been a week and still no results. Other facilities would send me the result within hours. Very slow and uncommon practice.
Care plan explained and reviewed by both doctor and assistant along with after care summary provided
The computer system was down so we didn't get any care instructions. I had to write on a piece of paper and tried to keep up the best I could.
