Dr. Dilmaghani is originally from the Washington DC area. Prior to medical training, he was a public-school general science teacher in Connecticut and took pride in his ability to educate and empower his patients regarding their diseases. Dr. Dilmaghani stared at MNGI Digestive Health in 2025

Dr. Dilmaghani has written textbook chapters on gastroenterology, including on shared decision making in GI and mitochondrial disorders, leading to inherited GI conditions. He has authored over 35 peer-reviewed publications on various GI topics, including but not limited to irritable bowel syndrome, gastroparesis, bile acid diarrhea, obesity, and artificial intelligence in medicine. Dr. Dilmaghani has presented at national research and educational meetings (both posters and oral presentations), including Digestive Disease Week, the ACG national meeting, and the specialty esophageal courses, including being recognized with an Abstract of Distinction.
