Experience
Dr. Leon graduated with honors from the University of Illinois Medical School in 1980, having completed his undergraduate work at the same institution. His internship and residency were performed in internal medicine at the University of Michigan Medical Center, Ann Arbor. Following completion of his residency, Dr. Leon moved to Seattle, where he finished his fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Washington. His former professional appointments include: Vice Chief, Department of Medicine; Medical Director, Endoscopy Department; and Chief, Department of Medicine at Methodist Hospital. Since 1986, Dr. Leon has served as a clinical associate professor at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. Dr. Leon has previously served on the Board of Directors of both Medica and Fairview Physician Associates(FPA). He also served for several years as Treasurer and member of the MNGI Board of Directors.
