Experience

Dr. Spencer has been with MNGI since 2023. Prior to that she was the sole GI doctor at a rural critical access hospital/clinic from 2018-2023, where she also served as the director of medical subspecialties. From 2016-2018 she was in a private practice GI group in the NYC metro area. She reports that one of the most meaningful aspects of her work as a gastroenterologist is the long‑term relationships she builds with patients, often caring for them through chronic conditions and multiple stages of life. GI allows for continuity, trust, and partnership, which she finds deeply rewarding. At the same time, the breadth and variety of the field—from preventive care and diagnostics to complex medical and procedural management—keeps the work intellectually engaging and constantly evolving.
